A Magical Island and Music Festival

Ocracoke is a magical place. It slows me down. It’s the kind of place that makes eating an orange on your porch an event, in the best way.

For the past three years, I’ve been visiting Ocracoke and attending the Ocrafolk Music Festival. My family attends as well. We all rented our own houses this year, within walking distance of each other. We blend together a family vacation with a musical festival; it’s pretty great.

This was Mae’s second year, but really the first year she and I could enjoy it together. We had a ball.
