Amanda was one of the facilitators at Moms Supporting Moms when I first began attending this support group. I remember how candid and kind she was. She made us all feel at ease. She told her story honestly. She told her story in a way that let us know she was stronger because of making it through her postpartum anxiety.
In this photo, Amanda was just beginning to turn the corner, but she wasn’t close to 100% recovered. There was a long road ahead of her, but she got her baby boy baptized and kissed his sweet head.
This is just a reminder that May is Maternal Mental Health Awareness Month. Do you know anyone with a baby? Support them! Make a meal. Give them a break. Give them Moms Supporting Moms information, just in case. Or donate to our Climb Out of the Darkness Walk, which Amanda is leading this year!
