I’m so excited to announce that my good friend Celeste Doaks is reading her amazing poetry along with the wonderful poet Dorianne Laux, who was also our mentor and teacher at NC State University. If you don’t know Dorianne’s work, then let me tell you this is a big deal treat for the Greenville area.

Dorianne Laux’s fourth book of poems, Facts about the Moon (W.W. Norton), is the recipient of the Oregon Book Award. Laux is also author of Awake, What We Carry, and Smoke from BOA Editions, as well as Superman: The Chapbook and Dark Charms, both from Red Dragonfly Press. Her fifth collection of poetry, The Book of Men, has recently been published from W.W. Norton. Laux teaches in the MFA Program at North Carolina State University.
celeste doaks, a poet and journalist, is the recipient of the 2009 Academy of American Poets Graduate Prize and AWP WC&C Scholarship. Her journalism has appeared in multiple journals, such as the Village Voice and Time Out New York. Her most recent poems can be seen in Connotation Press: An Online Artifact, Asheville Poetry Review and onTorch.com. Doaks received her MFA degree from North Carolina State University and is currently a creative writing professor at East Carolina University.
