Cranberry Apple Crisp Recipe

This has been a staple at our Thanksgiving gatherings for many, many years. It’s just the right sweetness with a bit of tart. You can have it as a side or wait until dessert.Very easy to make. Have a good fruit peeler on hand though. It’s one dish that Jimmy always requests, and it smells your whole house up with warm goodness.

Cranberry Apple Casserole
3 cups, peeled, chopped apples (6-8) mcintosh, gala, empire, etc
2 cups rinsed, fresh cranberries
2 Tbsp flour
1 cup sugar
Combine 1st 3 ingredients, tossing to coat.  Add 1 cup sugar, mix well.  Place in greased 2 qt casserole pan or 9×13 or 7×11 pan.
Topping:
3pkgs instant oatmeal with cinnamon and spice
3/4 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup margarine or butter melted
Combine 1st 4 ingredients then add melted butter
Stir well
Crumble over fruit mixture
Bake uncovered 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
We also like it with whip cream or vanilla ice cream.

  1. Oh yes, I can attest the yummy goodness of this recipe. Just had it for Thanksgiving – a Megan special – and it was delicious!
