Please, no tiara.

Yesterday, I returned from my bachelorette in Laurel Springs, NC. I opted for a relaxing weekend in the mountains with “cabrewing” (canoeing with beer), tubing (with beer), cooking with my best friends, and talking into the wee hours of the morning over the blinking tiara and tequila shots at a bar.

I really respected and was thankful my friends made my bachelorette about what I would want and like, not about what is expected to happen at these parties.

It was an amazing weekend. I realized once again how lucky I am to have friends like I do.

It’s hard to pick highlights but here are a few:

*An hour and a half massage from my best friend and massage therapist as the New River rambled by. It was relaxing and special to get to experience her phenomenal gift.

*Shooting water guns. Water guns are fun. Jennifer and I reenacted a Law & Order scene that was pretty spectacular

* Black Cat burrito!

*Driving the old Chevy truck down the gravel road.

* Watching my really new and really old friends bond.

*Sitting on “beer rock” with the sun coming over the trees, while my friends poured Bloody Marys on Saturday morning.

Geez, I’m thankful for it all.

I knew my bachelorette wasn’t my last hurray, so I didn’t make it one. I just wanted to spend some quality time with the people I love, before I marry the man that I love. Lots of love all around!

I better go before this gets any cheesier.
